On behalf of all our staff, we wish you a happy and healthy 2016!!
It is such a pleasure to welcome our students back to school!
The New Year has brought a great deal of excitement to our classes and it is so nice to see the children's smiling faces as we continue to engage in our learning. January is a great time to reflect on our goals and celebrate our successes over the past year, as well as set new goals for 2016.

WINTER WEATHER REMINDER
|
Although the weather has been rather warm these past weeks, we must remember that our winters can get very cold and the change can happen over night. As we move forward in the coming winter months, families are reminded that children must come to school prepared to go outside in cold weather conditions. Winter jackets, snow pants, mittens, hats, scarves and boots are key components to safely enjoying recess play in the fresh air. Rest assured that we monitor the weather conditions before and during every recess.
On occasion School Bus service cancellations may occur due to inclement weather conditions. Parents, students and staff are asked to access local radio and television stations after 6:00 a.m. to receive bus cancellation information. A bus cancellation message will also be available at
www.schoolbuscity.com and 1-877-330-3001, or by following YRDSB on Twitter. If a School Bus is cancelled for a day, it is cancelled for the entire day. If you choose to drop you child off in the morning on a bus cancellation day you must also ensure you pick them up at the end of the day for dismissal.

ACHIEVING SUCCESS TOGETHER
|
Term 1 Report Cards will be going home to families on February 17, 2016. As in past years the Term 1 Report Card will provide you with information regarding your child's progress from September to the completion of Term 1. Although many will gravitate to the marks, we encourage you to read through the comments of achievement and Next Steps with your child. These comments will help both of you with an understanding of how your child can continue to progress with their learning in Term 2. Please feel free to contact the school at any time to discuss your child's academic achievement and next steps for further growth. A strong partnership between family and school serves the best interest of children in our care.
